Reel heroes are not Real Heroes, Real Heroes are amongst you: Vijay Kumar, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir told the audience at the National Meet on Safety and Energy

Hyderabad, Telangana: We use film Heros as brand ambassadors, but Real heroes are not Reel Heroes. Real Heroes are amongst people. We use celebrities as brand ambassadors to encourage people wear helmets. Instead, we can pick up people Ming us, in the community, company who are strictly adhering to safety norms and they must be safety ambassadors instead celebrities said Mr Bijay Kumar, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir.

Mr Vijay Kumar was the Chief Guest along with Mr Dharam Pal, IAS, Advisor to Administrator, Chandugarh at the Awards Presentation Ceremony as part of two day National Meet on Safety and Energy currently underway at Sonmarg, 80 kms away from Srinagar in Jammu & Kashmir.

Speaking further he said Police and Doctors deal with human lives. A small mistake may take away lives. So safety is utmost important. Mistakes happen because of three reasons which include 01. Not having Standard Operating(SOOs) Practices, 02. SOPs are in place but we don’t follow them. The third reason s avoiding SOPs intentionally.  The SOPs must be updated from time to time, monitored and improved, added The top cop of Kashmir.

The ‘Chalta Hai’ attitude must go, IGP Vijay Kumar said.

We must use both reward and punishment. Reward for doing good and punishment for doing bad, must be used, he said.

Mr Dharam Pal said energy conservation is very important.

Greentech Foundation presented a Certificate of Fellowship and admitted him as Eminent Fellow of Greentech Foundation in appreciation of his distinguished to the society.

Mr Vijay Kumar, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir and Dharam Pal, IAS, Advisor to Administrator, Chandigarh gave away awards for excellence in Safety and Energy Sectors to Lupin Ltd; Lucknow Metro Rail, NTPC, Bilaspur and others.
