Sejuti Sarker: Finding Meaning in the Moments That Shape Us

Some people document life through photographs. Sejuti Sarker documents life through quiet lines and fragments of thought that eventually turned into poems. Based in Kolkata, she has spent years noting down emotions, observations and small reflections. What began as casual scribbles became a body of work that traces her evolution across different stages of being human.

Her debut book, Life Piece by Piece, brings these moments together. The collection feels personal yet universal. Each poem captures a phase of existence: the uncertainty of childhood, the intensity of adolescence, the weight of failure, the courage of growth and the quiet shift into self-awareness. Sejuti writes with gentleness and honesty. She does not aim for perfection. She focuses on becoming. That is what makes her voice relatable.

She often says she never realised she was writing a book. She was simply writing her life. Later, when she revisited those notes, she recognised them as chapters waiting to be shared. The result is a reflective collection that speaks to anyone who has felt lost, curious, hopeful or transformed by time.

Outside her creative world, Sejuti is a finance professional with experience in investment banking and wealth management. Her work demands precision and discipline, yet she has always carried space for writing. She also volunteers with NGOs across India, driven by the belief that joy grows when it is shared. These experiences shape her perspective and deepen the empathy visible in her poems.

Life Piece by Piece is not just a debut. It is a record of becoming. A reminder that life does not unfold in perfect sequences. It forms slowly, in pieces, as we learn to understand ourselves and the world around us.
