Amit Kumar Singh – Winner of the 21st Century Emily Dickinson Award

“Saransh” – A Poetic Celebration of Purpose, Patriotism, and the Pulse of Everyday Life

For Amit Kumar Singh, poetry is more than a creative outlet—it’s a reflection of values, a meditation on meaning, and a tribute to life’s simple yet profound blessings. In his debut poetry collection Saransh, Singh brings together verses that span the emotional and thematic spectrum—from motivation and spirituality to fiction, entertainment, and patriotism.

Winner of the 21st Century Emily Dickinson Award, Saransh is both personal and universal. With warmth and insight, the book captures what it means to live fully—with family, friends, and a deep sense of connection to both one’s country and the world. “It’s a poetic celebration,” Amit shares, “of the life we build with love, loyalty, and integrity.”

A seasoned banking professional with nearly two decades of experience, Amit holds an MBA in Finance, a B.Sc. in Mathematics, and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance. Though grounded in numbers by day, his heart has always beat in verse. “Poetry is where I find myself,” he says. “It’s where I make sense of the world—and of myself.”

Amit has long been writing poetry in both Hindi and English, and his poems have previously featured in internal bank publications. But Saransh marks a new chapter—one in which his creative voice steps confidently into the world. The poems, accessible and heartfelt, are stitched together by a common thread: the joy of living meaningfully, mindfully, and in harmony with others.

From lines that stir national pride, “Sapno ke Bharat ki Tumko Sair karate hai”, “ Ab Hamare hawale Vatan saathiyon”, to reflections that touch the spiritual core, “Mera bhi Jeevan Nikhare:, “Suryadev ko Pranam hai” , Saransh is a mirror of its author—steadfast, thoughtful, and quietly inspiring. Whether you’re looking for strength in difficult times, “Ruko nahi Badhe chalo”, a moment of stillness, or a rekindled love for community and country, this collection offers something real. “Hawa par sawar meri Pehli uraan”, “Tere sang kheli, Saat Holi”, “Mujhe yun dekh kar Mummy bhi muskurati thee” are all such poetic pieces in which you will get reflection of the same.

The Emily Dickinson Award jury praised Saransh for its “sincerity of voice and uplifting tone,” calling it “a poetic guide to living with compassion and courage.”

With Saransh, Amit Kumar Singh doesn’t just write poems—he opens a door into a world where motivation meets meaning, and where the ordinary is revealed to be extraordinary.
