Oxymed Hospital Successfully Conducts Walkathon for World Heart Day “Power of Zero” Campaign

Chennai, (Tamil Nadu) [India] September 29, 2025: Oxymed Hospital successfully organized a Walkathon on Saturday, September 27, 2025, as part of its World Heart Day – Power of Zero Campaign. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about heart health and emphasize the importance of “zero tolerance” toward risk factors such as smoking, stress, unhealthy diet, and physical inactivity.

The Walkathon, conducted in association with the Tamilnadu Muslim Munnatra Kazhagam (TMMK) and Lloyd, followed the route from Police Booth to Murugan Idli and back. Around 350 to 400 participants joined the event and were provided with refreshments, T-shirts, and participation certificates.

The event saw vibrant participation from students of The New College, Anjuman Himayathul Islam Institute, and Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed (JBAS) College for Women, along with enthusiastic members of the community.

Speaking about the event, Dr. Ayaz Akber said, “The Power of Zero campaign highlights the need to make zero compromises when it comes to heart health. The Walkathon was a wonderful opportunity to inspire people to take preventive steps and embrace healthier lifestyles.”

The event successfully brought together 350–400 participants, community members, student volunteers, and organizations, reinforcing the collective commitment to a healthier and heart-safe future.
