Routes 2 Roots announces 10th ALL INDIA VIRSA INTER SCHOOL COMPETITION result

18th January 2022: Routes 2 Roots, a non-profit NGO engaged in cultural exchange programs in India and abroad announced the results of the 10th All India Virsa Inter-School Competition recently. The 10th VIRSA marked the entries of thousands of schools like Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Haryana Government Schools, Punjab Government Schools, BSF Schools and other Private Schools. The event experienced the enthusiastic participation of students that was held in September 2021.

VIRSA is a cultural education initiative of the organisation, which is the first of its kind in the world providing cultural education to students through the digital medium to make the future generations aware of their heritage thereby strengthening the social and cultural bonds among each other. VIRSA organise these competitions twice a year and provide a platform for the students to showcase their cultural skills which they learn during the digital classes.

“It’s always a wonderful experience hosting VIRSA because of the overwhelming response from the participants. Steadily improving the online education system in art and culture which has helped in understanding the cultural diversities. This type of education has grown over the last few years and has experienced mainstream acceptance in art and culture, specially online education looks promising and opens up new doors of opportunities for all.” said Rakesh Gupta, founder, Routes2Roots.

The event was graced by a panel of judges who are taking regular classes in different Disciplines. 

Out of thousands of entries, 21 entries were chosen as the winning entries across India which covered all the regions of the country. Attractive prizes like LED TVs, Smartphones and Tablets were given to the students. All the participants were given certificates in recognition of their efforts. With competitions in the field of dramatics, dance, music, instruments, yoga and folk, etc. with a quirky twist, VIRSA 2021 became an unforgettable event for the participants.

“The competition has given us tremendous exposure and increased our confidence. I take this opportunity to thank Mr Rakesh Gupta (Founder Routes2Roots) and his organisation to give us this platform that has helped us hone our skills. I would also like to thank my parents and teachers who were always there to support me.” Said Kendriya Vidyalaya, INA Colony Kiwi Kachhwa Class XI Bharatnatyam.

The competition is not only for the schools or students who are in empanelled with the organisation. It is open to all schools and students across India.
