Udaan Retreats: India’s First Aerial Arts Retreat Platform Launches in Rishikesh

Rishikesh, (Uttarakhand), [India] July 30, 2025: In a country where wellness is often equated with yoga and meditation, Udaan Retreats is charting a new course, one that gives aerial movement arts the space, structure, and spotlight they’ve long deserved. Founded in July 2025 by Sagar Kinare, the retreat platform is the first of its kind in India, offering equipment-focused aerial retreats in Rishikesh and other scenic locations.

Sagar, who also founded Pancha Koshas Aerial Arts School, has spent years shaping the aerial arts landscape in India. With roots in yoga, movement, and performance, his work has consistently focused on building systems, not just stages, for artists to grow. While aerial silks, hoops, and hammocks were gaining popularity, there was no dedicated space for practitioners to go deeper. That’s where the idea for Udaan took flight.

A Retreat Built for Aerialists, Not Generalists

At Udaan Retreats, the entire experience is centered on aerial arts. This isn’t a yoga retreat with a few silks thrown in. From the moment you arrive, every session takes place on the apparatus, be it hammock, silk, or hoop, with progression-based training, artistic exploration, and rest all woven into the schedule. The settings are intentionally intimate and nature-rich, ranging from the banks of the Ganga in Rishikesh to quiet beach spots in Goa.

Designed in collaboration with Pancha Koshas, each retreat offers:

  • Focused training for aerialists of all levels
  • Curated, skill-based programs
  • Rigorous safety, professional rigging, and small group formats
  • A growing, dedicated aerial community

Hosting Made Simple with Udaan Solutions

For teachers and studio owners, Udaan Solutions offers a full support system to host their own aerial retreats, from sourcing venues and handling logistics to rigging and schedule design. It’s an invitation to create without worrying about operations.

As Sagar explains, “There’s a need for more than just workshops. Aerialists deserve structured spaces to train, rest, and create, that’s what Udaan is about.”
