Vastu Dairy celebrates World Food Day with fine dining for slum kids

Surat (Gujarat) [India]: Vastu Dairy celebrated World Food Day in a unique way by taking slum kids to a fancy restaurant. Slum children in Surat city were taken for lunch to Darshan Hotel near Gajera circle in Katargam. Vastu Dairy’s efforts allowed the children to have a cuisine of their choice including ice cream for dessert.

Books and pens were also distributed to the children. Vastu Dairy chairman Bhupat Sukhadia said they wanted to uniquely celebrate World Food Day by letting kids, who otherwise may not have been to a restaurant, have the experience. The money spent on the effort seemed worthwhile when we saw the happiness on the children’s faces. The company held similar celebrations in various cities of Gujarat.
