Vivi Launches “K3G” Music Video, Showing Culture as Lived, Not Labelled

Vivi has officially unveiled the music video for his latest single, “K3G,” and it arrives as a refreshing reminder that sometimes the most compelling visuals are the ones that don’t try too hard. Shot in Bali during a holiday with close friends, the video captures sun-soaked days, inside jokes, and moments of carefree movement that feel instinctive rather than staged.

Rather than opting for a high-budget production, Vivi made a conscious decision to keep things raw and personal. “I thought about hiring professionals to film this video,” he shares, “but capturing the raw energy of my friends and me, third culture kids, is kind of a DIY specialty.” That philosophy runs through every frame. The camera moves with the group, not above them, blurring the line between artist and environment and allowing the video to unfold like a shared memory.

The visual mirrors the spirit of the track itself. While the title “K3G” references the iconic Bollywood film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham…, the song, and its video, are firmly rooted in the present. Instead of nostalgia, the video leans into emotional duality through a modern lens: joy and ambition sit alongside vulnerability and self-reflection, all delivered with a light, playful touch.

Vivi’s global upbringing subtly underpins the video’s energy. Born in Taipei to Indian parents, raised across cultures, and later relocating to Australia on his own, his third culture identity isn’t explained outright, it’s embodied. The ease with which the group moves, laughs, and exists together reflects a shared sense of cultural fluidity that feels organic rather than performative.

In an era dominated by hyper-curated visuals, the “K3G” video stands out by doing the opposite. There’s no attempt to manufacture moments or overstate the message, just an artist trusting the energy around him. The result is a visual that feels lived-in and unforced, capturing Vivi at a point where clarity, comfort, and creative freedom intersect.
