IPHH College of Nursing conducts Organ Donation Awareness Program

Organ donation is an act of kindness. It is a step towards saving thousands of lives. Every year, millions of people die due to organ failures. Numerous health-related issues emerge due to poor lifestyles, accidents, or old age.

Whatever the reason, sometimes it becomes necessary for the patient to go for an organ transplant. But, finding the organ donor during the time of need becomes of utmost importance. There are cases where the patient fails to get a matching organ or an organ donor, thus falling prey to organ failure.

Hence, organ donation has become the need of the hour to eradicate organ scarcity in the country. So, to spread awareness regarding the crucial matter, the Institute of Public Health and Hygiene, Jammu, organized an Organ donation program.

The program was conducted on 16th February 2023 in collaboration with State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization, SOTTO, Jammu and Kashmir. The program was born on 16th February 2023 in partnership with State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization, SOTTO, Jammu and Kashmir. Institute of Public Health and Hygiene is a reputed nursing and allied health sciences college in Jammu. It offers many courses related to the health and hygiene sciences.

State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization, SOTTO, is a state-level organ donation organisation from the Department of Health and Family Welfare. It looks after organ donation, harvesting, and transplantation at the state level.

The Institute of Public Health and Hygiene, Jammu, invited the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization to deliver a talk and spread awareness on organ donation and transplant.

The program’s main aim was to make people aware of organ and tissue donation’s importance in saving thousands of lives every minute. The institute’s students, staff, and faculty members attended the program, thus making it a huge success.

The organ donation awareness program, 2023, by the Institute of Public Health and Hygiene, sets a goal for every individual to donate their organs after death. This is sure to keep us living forever on the face of the Earth.
